Steven's Pass

Laura and I went to check out Steven's Pass this weekend--it was surprisingly good considering its size. The weather was good, and it wasn't too crowded.

Ira Spring trail, again!

I went back to Mason Lake and beyond via the Ira Spring trail, this time with Mike and Rachael Shafer. The weather was gorgeous for the whole trip--the only downside was the somewhat pesky amount of bugs around the lake. As always, pictures below.

Ira Spring Trail/Mason Lake

Just got back from a backpacking trip to Mason Lake via the Ira Spring trail. This was a shorter, but more difficult hike than Goat Lake, but it was definitely worth it. The hike up and our stay overnight were unfortunately rather rainy and foggy, but the hike down was beautiful.

The Foo Fighters in Seattle

I just got back from a jarring and exhilarating musical experience at the Key Arena in Seattle. I refer, of course, to the Foo Fighters concert. The entire band's performance was amazing, but Dave Grohl held the spotlight. Grohl is one of the most talented, intelligent, and downright funny musicians I have had a chance to see in concert. The entire show was a real joy to see, and if I ever have the chance to see the Foo Fighters in concert again, I will take it without any hesitation.

Goat Lake backpacking trip

Gus and I just got back from an overnight backpacking trip to Goat Lake. The hike out to the lake is about 5 miles, with a 1300 ft. elevation gain. Overall it was a great trip, and I learned a lot for next time. Click the image below for more pictures.
