Downtime
Well, after a short downtime, www.adrianlaney.com is back in business. I apologize. As Laura says, it is amazing how many computer problems I have, seeing as how I am a Computer Engineering student. I like to think that I just push them too hard.
The 250GB WD drive I had running my web server has issues. Twice now it has refused to boot with "a disk read error occurred." I have completely lost my faith in Western Digital. What are they thinking, lowering the warranty on their Caviar drives to one year? In addition to the problems with my 250GB drive, I am now the proud owner of a 200GB paperweight. My 200GB WD drive is failing its S.M.A.R.T. tests. Out of warranty of course. Less than two years old. *sigh*
I went out this weekend and bought three 120GB Seagate drives, all with a five year warranty. I hope to have a RAID 5 on my personal machine soon. Anyway, this has freed up a more reliable, if smaller, hard drive for my web server, so maybe downtimes like this will become much less frequent.
Lucky for you all, I backup my website religiously. There shouldn't anything missing or nonfunctional. Please let me know if you cannot access anything.
